The Generals' 2008 season came to an end this past Saturday night in Xenia, OH.  After losing to the Warriors by 17 points two weeks prior, the Generals were looking to play much better...and they did.  Patrick Woods' presence in the huddle really helped the offense early.  Some great catches by Jarie Delgado helped the Generals take a 13-3 lead well into the 4th quarter.  Unfortunately the Warriors made more plays coming down the stretch, and won the game 16-13.  The team would like to thank the players, coaches, volunteers and fan for their support throughout the 2008 season.

The Generals lost a close mud soaked game Saturday at Arlington High School.  The Cutters brought a lot of players, and a lot of talent, but one of the most important things they brought was TOWELS.  They helped the Cutters take a halftime lead of 18-7 into the lockerrooms.  The Generals did not have towels to dry the football during the first half, and it showed with three fumbles.  The Generals opened the game with a bang, when Monsanto Love returned the opening kick for a touchdown.  The Cutters then ran the ball all over the field the rest of the half.  The Generals did get some towels for the second half, and stuffed the Cutters' running game.  An 85 yard touchdown from Jesse Parsley on a screen pass, got the Generals within striking distance, But they came up just inches short of a drive extending first down with just over two minutes to play, sealing the deal for the Cutters.

Couldn't get out of their own way at Arlington High School on Saturday.  Leading them to a miserable 28-7 defeat at the hands of the Koskiusko County Mustangs.  It didn't start out well, with the team fumbling the first play from scrimmage, and it definitely didn't end well.  In a game that was tied 0 - 0 at halftime, the Generals could not overcome 6 turnovers and many untimely penalties.  The play of the Mustangs' quarterback and wide receiver tandom of Mike Whitaker and Charles Gross.  Dave Clawson did all he could to keep the Generals in the game with two amazing punts, pinning the Mustangs inside their own 2 yard line each time.  The lone score for the Generals came on a short pass from Jermaine Wilson to Brian Stacker.

8/23/08
The Generals continued their winning ways with a come from behind win over the Classic City Crush 25-21.  The Crush came out firing on all cylinders, leading for most of the game.  Trailing 21-3, the Generals came to life.  Brian Stacker started the comeback with a 65 yard touchown run.  Then Jesse Parsley scored another touchdown on a 2 yard run, then a two point conversion.  After a huge fourth down stop by the defense, Jermaine Wilson led the team down the field.  With only seconds remaining on the clock, Wilson hit Parsley on a short pass.  After a broken tackle, he was in the endzone for the winning touchdown.

The Generals' offense didn't produce much against a tough Cougars' defense on Saturday.  Running back Jesse Parsley had to fill in at quarterback for most of the game after Kasey Pierce became the third Generals signal caller to go down this year with an injury, breaking his leg in the first quarter.  Fortunately, the defense and special teams stepped up to pick up the slack.  Monsanto Love intercepted two passes, returning both for touchdowns...one for 65 yards, and the other for 50 yards.  A blocked punt by Brian Stacker set up the Dave Clawson for a 29 yard field goal in the fourth quarter, to seal the deal on a 17-0 win.

Too many penalties and turnovers sealed the Generals fate in a 28-7 loss to the Southwest Ohio Blazers Saturday evening at Arlington High School.  Jesse Parsley ran for 112 yards and a touchdown, but he couldn't overcome SEVEN Generals' turnovers.  Linebacker Phil Zeunik led the defense with 8 tackles, a sack, a caused fumble and fumble recovery.  We appreciate the large crowd that came out and cheered on the team.  The winner of the 37" flat screen HDTV was also announced at halftime.  We would like to congratulate Keith Baotan on winning the TV.

The Generals improved to 2-0 in the IFL with an impressive 42-7 win over the Elkhart Shamrock.  The 42 is the most points scored by any Generals team.  The story of the game was the Generals' rushing attack.  Led by Jesse Parsley's 64 yards, the Generals put up 222 rushing yards, and 4 touchdowns.  Quarterback Pat Cook ran for two scores, Parsley added one and Brian Stacker another.  Joe Zeunik had another great performance with 4 catches for 105 yard and one touchdown.  The defense was led by Levi Griggs with 5 tackles, and an interception.  The defense picked off 4 Shamrock passes on the day, and Rob Smith returned his for a touchdown.

The Generals started the 2008 campaign with an impressive win over the West Ohio Wranglers, 27-0.  Tony Laws scored one touchdown on a pass from Pat Cook.  Jesse Parsley and Brian Stacker scored on the ground, and Monsanto Love returned an interception for a touchdown.  The defense had a great game with the shut out.  The Generals will travel to Elkhart on August 2nd to take on the Elkhart Shamrock at Studabaker Park at 5:00.

The Generals first Jamboree turned into a scrimmage with the Indiana Mustangs.  We appreciate the Mustangs being able to come out and help us prepare for our 2008 season.  The Mustangs ended up winning the scrimmage 14-0, but the Generals walked away on the 28th with valuable experience, going up against a very tough and experienced team.  The Dance Team also had a very successful debut, performing at halftime for the crowd.
